The shaped scalloped edges increase the contact points around food compared with straight, flat tips. This helps the tong hold items more securely during lifting, turning, and placement.

Wash with warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft sponge, cleaning around the scalloped edges and where the red-coated sections meet the steel. Rinse and dry promptly. Avoid abrasive pads, bleach, chlorine-based cleaners, and sharp utensils on the coated areas.
